Ashwagandha ( Withania somnifera ), is a shrub cultivated in India, Pakistan , and Sri Lanka & it roots have been used for thousands of years by Ayurvedic practitioners ,also known as Indian ginseng . Ashwagandha belongs to Solanaceae or nightshade family.
Ashwagandha, a traditional Indian (Ayurvedic) medical herb thought of as “Indian ginseng.” used for stress, arthritis, and many other conditions .It matures as a stout shrub that grows a height of 170 cm.
Ashwagandha have red fruit & yellow blossoms , though its fruit is berry -like in shape & size.All the common parts of this plant such as berries, fruits & roots have been used traditionally.
Ashwagandha is promoted for numerous uses. It is used to heighten immune systems and as a rejuvenator, aphrodisiac, and tonic for general health.
It is marketed as a remedy for numerous compelx disease such as cancers, multiple sclerosis and AIDS. It is often employed as a hypnotic & antiarthritic for self-therapy. Historically ashwagandha root has also been reported to have sex-enhancing actions.
